In Azerbaijan, the standard voltage is 220V, and the frequency is 50Hz. The following plug types are used:
  • Type C (Europlug – two round pins)

Visa information

All participants coming to Azerbaijan must confirm whether they need a visa. Some countries/nationalities are exempt from visa requirements based on bilateral agreements. Please check the information below to determine your visa status before proceeding with your travel plans.

Countries with a Visa-Free Regime

Citizens of countries that have visa-free agreements with Azerbaijan can enter the country without a visa for a specified period. Even though a visa is not required, you must have a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining before expiration and a minimum of 2 empty pages. For more information on visa-free entry and any specific requirements for your nationality, visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan or contact the nearest diplomatic mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan. click here

You will also be notified if your country is listed for Visa-Free Regime while applying for E-Visa.

Countries that require a Visa

For citizens of countries that require a visa to enter Azerbaijan, there are two ways to obtain it.

1. Obtaining an Online Electronic Visa (e-Visa)

Please check if your country is eligible for an e-Visa for a short-term stay: Check Eligibility Here. The e-Visa process is simplified, allowing you to obtain a visa within 3 working days.

How to Apply for an e-Visa:

  • Register your application on the official web portal: ASAN Visa

  • Fill in the required information. Please select “Science” as the purpose of your visit in the online form.

  • Pay the state fee of 20 USD for the electronic visa.

  • Wait for your e-Visa to be sent to the email address provided in the application.

  • Print your electronic visa.

Present your passport and electronic visa when passing through passport control upon entry into Azerbaijan.

2. Obtaining a Visa Through the Embassy or Consulate.

To apply for a visa through the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in your country, follow these steps:

  • Download the host invitation letter from your dashboard on icpc.global

  • Complete the Azerbaijan Visa Application Form. You can obtain this form at the Embassy or Consulate offices, use the sample approved by the relevant executive authority (a sample is attached), or fill it out online via the Visa Application Portal.

  • Gather the required documents.

  • Submit all documents to the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan in your country.

  • Pay the visa fee.

  • Receive your passport with your visa inserted.

Countries Requiring Assistance for Visa Application

Citizens of countries where there is no Azerbaijani diplomatic mission, or where the mission is too far from their location, as well as those who are not eligible for the e-Visa, may require assistance to obtain a visa. If your country is listed below, please contact the event organizers for support with your visa application process.

Helpful Tips

  • Always ensure your passport is valid for 6 months past your return date and has blank pages for the visa.

  • Keep copies of all submitted documents and payment receipts in case of any issues.
